Schwierigkeiten mit der Standortbestimmung (Difficulties Determining Location)
Lecture performance with sound piece, 27:16 min., 2020
Broadcasting after dark from high trees or empty attics, the clandestine Radio Fledermaus (Bat radio) artfully addressed the lack of press diversity between 1979 and 1984. Mingling reenactment with activists’ memoirs, the artist revisits the reports in which police and telecommunications officers meticulously documented their pursuit and surveillance of the secret radio group. The lecture performances are additionally accompanied by a photographic series, in which the group’s DIY-transmitters and confiscated tapes can be seen alongside the surveillance reports.
