Artistic radio and podcast projekt, nGbK Berlin, Jan.-Dec. 2018.
Founded in 1969, Berlin’s Kunstverein nGbK sought to open up space for emancipatory approaches to art curation and exhibition. In 2018, Anna Bromley invited visitors to the art space to approach exhibitions through the tools of audio production. Collaborative audio pieces were created in writing and recording sessions based on visits to the exhibition. They combine sounds from the nGbK with visitors’ comments and voices from neighboring kiosks. Brief encounters and vexed inquiries became the material for stories, oracles, and sound dramaturgies. The voices, questions, and comments of both the curatorial groups and the visitors were literally “aired” in radio and podcast formats, i.e., brought on air – via radio frequencies as well as on the nGbK website.
Writing and recording sessions resulting in two collaborative radio features (58:59 and 53:18 min.) as well as 10 sonic flash stories between 51 seconds and 2:26 min., available for public listening (total running time: 14:43 min.). Broadcast on reboot.fm and via public listening sessions at the nGbK.
