Artistic radio and podcast projekt, nGbK Berlin, Jan.-Dec. 2018.
Lüftung (Airing) is a project of experimental, artistic art education, with which Anna Bromley initiated a collective radio and podcast production in 2018 in the radical democratic Kunstverein nGbK in Berlin. Since its founding in 1969, the nGbK with its diverse practices and projects sees itself as a space of fundamental research for a left-wing concept of art. From this perspective, education is an integral and productive component of artistic knowledge production.
Using the tools of radio-making, the workshops and listening sessions in Lüftung invited visitors to approach the nGbK projects with their diverse debates, dramaturgies and negotiations–in a process of active listening, speaking and counter-speech. By taking on the air of questions, the project refers to an act of everyday hygiene: the airing of spaces, namely of such spaces that span between questions. In addition, the term Lüftung (airing) also refers to the radio concept of being ON-AIR, because the collectively developed radio plays were broadcast on the Berlin-based radio station reboot.fm.
